The Report Packaging Data (RPD) system for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is now live for large packaging producers.
As the recent announcement by DEFRA on a deferral for EPR Regulations solely relates to the payment of waste disposal costs, large packaging producers are still required to enrol for EPR via the new government portal Report Packaging Data (RPD) – prior to providing your chosen compliance scheme with your packaging data by the 11th of September, for the period covering January to June 2023.
What is the EPR Report Packaging Data Portal?
The EPR Report Packaging Data Portal is a secure platform designed to assist large producers in meeting their Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations.
The EPR enrolment process will request basic company information, along with the nominated compliance scheme they would like to submit data on your behalf. It is important to note that nominating a compliance scheme on the portal does not automatically sign you up to that specific scheme – you will need to join them directly before providing your nomination.
Enrolling as a Large Packaging Producer
As part of the enrolment process, you will be required to register an approved person from your organisation. This individual will be legally responsible for submitting your EPR data accurately to your compliance scheme and must be a listed on Companies House.
Nominating the WasteCare Packaging Compliance Scheme
As a member of the WasteCare Compliance Scheme, you will need to select the ‘Packcare scheme’ on the RPD system.
After a successful enrolment, you will receive a confirmation email that contains your Organisation ID. You must provide us with this Organisation ID as we require it as part of your EPR data submission we will carry out on your behalf in September.

If you are a WasteCare Compliance Scheme member, please ensure all of your packaging data covering January to June 2023, is supplied to your WasteCare account manager by 11th September 2023.
